The Sand Ceremony:

You have just sealed your relationship by the giving and receiving of rings, and the exchange of a kiss.
This covenant is a pledge between two people who agree that they will commit themselves to one another throughout their lives.

The most beautiful example of this partnership is the marriage relationship.

You have committed here today to share the rest of your lives with each other.
Today, this relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these two individual containers of sand.

Each representing you, and all that you were, all that you are and all that you will ever be.

As the sand is poured together, joining as one, so too are your lives - joining together in marriage and family.

These grains of sand can never be seperated and poured again - like your love they will remain one for eternity.

The Butterflies

It is believed, under an Indian Legend, that if anyone desires a wish to come true they must capture a butterfly and whisper that wish to it. Since a butterfly makes no sound, they cannot tell the wish to anyone but the Great Spirit. So by making the wish and releasing the butterfly, your wish will be taken to the heavens and be granted. I would like to ask all of you to think of a wish that you would give to James and Natalie, and James and Natalie as you look at each other and stand here in front of your family and friends, I ask that you too make a wish for your marriage.
